In loving memory of my husband, JC Bradshaw, who got me started on a wonderful musical road, filled with friends, old and new.
After building his first dulcimer from a kit, he didn’t stop. He created more dulcimers and in each one, he made improvements. His instruments (Calico Possum Dulcimers) are still played by several well-known dulcimerists across the country. In addition to dulcimers, he went on to build the octave mandolin shown above and guitars. This photo was taken at John Montgomery’s violin shop in Raleigh, NC by Charlie Nelson. JC did not build all those violins, but given more time on earth, he just might have.
